The Big Move
So the move was greatly satisfying. All of the stuff from my storage unit was successfully moved from Ukiah to Santa Rosa in 2 cars, 2 trucks, and a Volkswagen bus.
The coolest thing about the move is that the energy was so positive and encouraging that it felt more like a fun day of hanging out with friends than it did the extra stressful ordeal of moving.
Great Thanks to Heather who came into the storage unit on Friday and helped me prepare the unit for the next day's move. Dude......The best and worst 6 hours. Thanks to O 'Haru's Japanese restaurant for feeding the two of us sushi after the ordeal was over. Thanks to Jonathan for the hugs and encouragement.
Special thanks to My parents (who provided food and a vehicle), Stacy and Maya (who packed Stace's new hatch-back to the brim), Joe (who drove that truck even though the night before was rough), Christina (who drove up in her car alone, and Dan (who met me on Thursday and helped me move on Saturday). Thanks Shannon for sending your boy friend to pick up your stuff. Heather is awesome for coming back on Saturday morning to clean her stuff out and help load cars. Thank you, Christina, for putting the baby stuff in your car w/o asking me first. Logan rocks for getting his stuff out later that day! Thank you Natalia for the phone list extravaganza and helping me to encourage people to sell out their friends. Thanks to Sid, for selling out your friends. Thank you to all those that have hurt backs, but offered to help anyway (crazy kids!). Thank you to Daniel, Nick, Ben, Holly, and Pat ~ the second wind that met us at my new place. Extra wonderful thanks to Shawna and Maya ~ who have sat on my bed and talked to me while I have unpacked boxes and boxes and boxes. Thanks to Mike for having me move in and giving me free reign of the decorating and rearranging of the apartment. Thanks to Cecil for being such a kick ass cat.
If I have forgotten to mention you, I have not forgotten your contribution to the big day, or the days that have since followed. I have had a few moving experiences in my life, and I want to send out hugs to all of you, for making this the best one I have ever had.
