The White Tree

That's right... the White Tree. A tree where only the pale skinned sit.
Welcome to Jena, Louisiana in 2006-07 where a group of black students were told by the school administration to sit wherever they liked on campus, and when racial tensions exploded, were not there to support the black students.
Three nooses of the school colors, hung by three white students, showed up on the tree following the black students choosing to sit where they would like to- Does this sound familiar to anyone? My mind flashes back in history to water fountains, stores, busses, housing, sanctified lynchings, and of course my experiences at school.
I have no more words for the depths of which my heart cries out for the black students, now known as the Jena 6, that have ended up with sentences, while all the white faces from the seats of guilt and power get off with out any responsibility.
I don't see why the white perpetrators don't just stand next to the young black men destined to rot in jail and get their pictures taken- just so we can truly feel as if we are in the 1800's.
